Spiderman is definitely one of the most popular and well-loved fictional superheroes in the world. That's why it isn't surprising for any buildings, parks, etc to build statues of the superhero to please the public. But one Spiderman statue in Korea was removed due to controversy.
The Spiderman statue is placed in the Lotte Shopping Center in Busan and it depicts Spiderman having a massive erection. The sculpture went viral and overseas since it's facing the mall's playground and resting area. A lot of complaints were received from the people who have seen the statue personally. The clamor to take the statue down grew even bigger after photos of the said statue's existence spread like wildfire online.
The artist for the controversial statue. Eunsuk Yoo was asked to either renovate the statue or take it down. Eunsuk chose to remove it.
